Recognition of
qualifications

When you want to get a job in Serbia, it is necessary to submit your diploma in the documentation you submit to regulate your employment-based residence status (D visa or temporary residence). It does not have to be nostrified.

The document you are submitting for the purpose of regulating your residence status is a diploma, certificate, or other public document confirming the acquisition of the appropriate type and level of the required professional qualifications or education. A certified translation of this document must also be submitted.

However, there are cases when it is necessary to nostrify a diploma – most often when a foreigner wants to continue their education or studies in the Republic of Serbia. However, it may also happen that nostrification is necessary because the employer requests it.

If you decide to submit an application for temporary residence permit based on “Talent”, you will need to submit a notarized diploma with your application.

In case you need to nostrify your diploma, you can do so electronically, and detailed instructions for initiating the procedure for recognizing foreign primary, secondary and higher education certificates can be found in the article on diploma recognition .
